Week 2

This week we will look at tools that can be adapted for short research projects and tools that can be used to spark creative writing.

  1. Task 1: Creative Writing: Character, Setting, and Plot
  2. Task 2: Creative Writing Tools Review
  3. Task 3 – Collaborative Writing
  4. Task 4: Further Exploration: Research Projects and Other Writing-Related Sites (optional)
    1. Help Desk
  5. Completion Checklist

Task 1: Creative Writing: Character, Setting, and Plot

I have chosen picture 1C – 2B- 3C
My story-starter is as follows:

He was no doubt the greatest child star that ever lived. He was traveling all over Europe playing music by the time he was six. Because of his constant travels, he eventually learned to speak fifteen different languages. He wrote his first sonata for the piano when he was four and composed his first opera when he was twelve!

Task 2: Creative Writing Tools Review

At the moment I am very interested in creating a Newsletter together with a few of my colleagues, so http://letterpop.com/ looks great! Anyway, I've found out that this tool is not for free. :( If you stumble upon to similar tool but free, I would be grateful for giving me a reference.
I've found out that http://www.futureme.org/ could be a good reminder tool. For example, you planed to make a written exam for your class on March, the 3rd, but you are afraid that you may miss it (oh, your students would celebrate that day!), so you simply write an email to yourself, with your intention of making this exam and tune the delivery date to March, the 3rd. Simple, isn't it? :)

Task 3 – Collaborative Writing

For this task I've decided to use Google Docs Presentation, because I wanted to enliven the story with images. I've taken the story by nattamel (here is her profile on pbworks: http://bit.ly/zTIzXc) and here is my link for the continued story: Motto - "Google Docs" http://bit.ly/wiII3X
I invite friends to add more text with images to the story! :) Thanks! :)
